The Graduate Program in Physical Geography at the University of São Paulo is one of the oldest in Brazil. The first theses were defended in the 1940s, and in 1971, the Program adopted its current structure in accordance with federal regulations. Since that time, the Program has continued to maintain a tradition, being the only Graduate Program in the country dedicated specifically to research in Physical Geography.

Graduates of the Program work professionally throughout the national territory and abroad, whether in the public, private, third sector, or as freelancers.
